Melting Metal with… Bacon?

A recent post from PopSci.com discusses one man’s goal to create a device entirely from bacon and use it to cut a steel pan in half.

  • The device, built from a form of thermal lance, is a flammable and destructive force.
  • One challenge was to craft a bacon structure strong enough to handle a 5000°F flame.

Which kind of bacon would hold up best?

Prosciutto.

By wrapping and bundling these slices of prosciutto, the result is bacon-cut steel.

Check out the video, and don’t underestimate the power of food!
